What a difference a year makes

A year ago today the adoption agency officially approved us as a couple who could adopt. Our profiles went to all the agencies in Utah and Idaho and our web profile was published. For us it marked the end of a lot of paperwork and the start of our waiting/finding time.

Our expectations to have a baby was 2 to 3 years, of course we hoped for sooner, but the reality of adoption was things might not happen for a while. We were glad we had something done, we were on the road to get a family. So we went out and spread the word, knowing that the more people knew we were looking to adopt the better chances of our adoption happening would be.

During the last year it has been a roller coaster of emotions, trying to figure out what we can do, trying to figure out what direction we needed to take. And now looking back and seeing how everything happened, I see that it was totally in the Lord's hands, it wasn't because of us and what we were doing and it wasn't us who found Charlee, it was Elle and Colby who found us. Everyday we are reminded of  it and everyday we know the Lord is mindful of all of us and our needs.

Good Night you two, darlings.
