When He Spoke My Love Language . . .

I am not a Valentine’s Day fan, the expectations get out of control. I am ok with little or nothing on Valentines, a card is perfect.  On the years I do get gifts, most of the times it is a mix CD, which I love and listen to in my car, they make me feel connected when we are apart throughout the day.

The morning of Valentines, I was not expecting anything and was surprised to get one of the best gifts I have ever received.  It came in the form of an email.  It was an eReceipt for some Hockey Game Tickets; row 1 in the corner, seats 2, 3 and 4, Utah Grizzlies vs. Alaska Aces.  Karst is a genius and got me a gift only he knew I would love but never spend the money on.

The game was this past Saturday and it was everything I dreamed it could be plus so much more.  Siting rink side you can feel the chill of the ice coming through the floor.  You see the expressions and the effort of the players, hear what the players are saying and when the excitement builds you get to pound on glass. You can feel the force of the players as they checked each other, hear the puck as it bounces off the side boards. Sharing such an experience with Karst and Charlee was the cherry on top.

I really loved every moment of it.  Even though we sat by crazy 50 year old lady, a school teacher from Rock Springs, with bad breath, who talked to us like we had never seen hockey.  The game was intense, the Grizzlies had lost to the Aces the day before and they were in for the win, it was tied a couple times and the last 10 minutes of the 3rd period we finally pulled ahead and kept the lead 4-3. Charlee said I was screaming too loud.

Today I wanted to let you know that this year for Valentines, Karst spoke my Love Language and got me Rink Side Hockey Tickets!! I am a very lucky girl!

6 Truths My Fertile Friends Taught Me about Infertility

When I was first thrown into the category “infertile” I felt overwhelmed with grief and pain.  I thought about my friends who had kids and assumed they had no idea about my pain. I choose to feel isolated.
Opening up about infertility to my friends who are in the different phases of life I have learned valuble truths about woman.  Below is an example of what 6 out of a couple dozen have taught me.

  1.  My friend Stormy, who had just lost her mother and was now facing life at 30 without any parents sent me a message about supporting and loving others around us, no matter the situation it opened my eyes that others around me were grieving and suffering. Don’t have a pity party  alone, others are grieving also, find them. Love them. I will always be grateful for her wise words.
  2.  In a conversation with my friend, Elizabeth who had 6 kids, (of course I was jealous), she just mentioned “really, you never have to worry about being pregnant? Oh wow, that would be fabulous.” It was then that I realized that fertility could be a double edge sword.  The brief conversation changed my thoughts about timing.  I gained sympathy for others, who were blessed with children that came in a time not planned, and might have been overwhelming.
  3. While talking with my single friend Christie, who shared with me that when she does find someone she wants to spend her life with, baring children will no longer be an option. Many have missed opportunities and they have to let go of their family dream.  We cried together about what will never be. My sympathy grew for those who had lost the opportunity to bare children.
  4.  My friend Kim, shared with me her struggle with choosing to have a hysterectomy, at the age of 26, although she had 3 boys who she loved. Having so many girl problems, it was recommended by her doctor, to have the procedure.   She had second thoughts and struggles, but knew it was best for her health and well being. I realized many have to close the door on fertility, even though they are still young.   Years later, in a new marriage I have watched her find her way through adoption, a very rough road for her.  It is heartbreaking watching a good mother, fight so hard for children to bring into her home.
  5. What really opened my eyes, about the truth every woman faces their own fertility, was in talking to my friend Becky, she had 4 children, they were older, she was older and now going through that hmm “change.”  She shared with me her unexpected grief and sorrow in letting go of that part of herself. I recognized the grief of getting older.  Now I watch her trying to support and help her daughter go through IVF, to start her own family.  She feels helpless watching her daughter go through this, and wants to help her daughter find some peace in her life.
In talking with these ladies and several others, (mostly who were sitting in my salon chair).  I have come to know that somehow in growing up and preparing for this prime time of my life, with birth control conversations, and pregnancy discussions, family planning advice, no one said, the truth,
#6 YOU NEVER HAVE CONTROL OVER FERTILITY.”
Every woman has a point in her life that she feels the grief of this.  No matter the circumstances, our own choice, age, body failing or the many other reasons, every woman feels a lack of control over something so important.

I no longer categorize myself as an infertile woman.  I categorize myself as a woman, who has already discovered the truth about fertility. I decide how much I will hold onto the hurt.  How much I will reach out to other woman and talk to them about this truth.  I am always a better person listening to someone else share with me their journey of motherhood, and very grateful we do not have to find these truths on our own.

Are We Still Friends?

Seriously you have been neglected!  Their are 2 MAJOR things that keep me from posting as I wish.  I have over 30,000 pictures on my hard drive and my poor little MacDaddy which is now 5 years old can not handle too much.  When I have time to be on the computer I am moving pictures to other drives and organizing them.

2nd is it is not easy to do updates from my phone.  I can post one picture at a time or have no edit options.  GRR.  I have been thinking of switching to another blog to make this easier.  I am sad to say my Facebook is more current then my blog, (my head is hung in shame).

If you have any suggestions on how I can resolve these issues quicker and get back to real blogging please bring it on.

A few highlights for now:

Us

To Charlee's delight Santa brought her too much for Christmas

Charlee is a Wyoming girl, she lives for the snow and finds every chance to get cold outside.

Charlee makes a great tree.  She is LOVING her pre school, and has a blast there.

Charlee turned 4 and per her request she got a cow cake.  She enjoyed every bite.
More posts to come!!

Just when you thought the campaigning was over:

At the accounting firm where Karst works, they have an award
 "Employee of the Year",
that they announce at the Christmas party.
And because Karst is the super stud he received the award the first year he worked there.

Well it is that time of the year again,
and I guess Karst decided he would campaign for the award.
Of course it was all a joke and then his co-workers started going along with him.
It started with a sign . . . and then they all put up signs.

When Karst came home the other night,
he was laughing and talking to me about it.
But today when I went into the office for him to sign somethings,
I saw the signs and I couldn't help but laugh out loud
and of course take some pictures.  Here is for your entertainment.
This was on the office door across the hall from him,
Remind you of high school?
I love the pop machine in the kitchen,
I am sure it will be full of Pepsi.
And when Brian dances in his moon boots,
we need to be sure to get video
 for his youtube career.

 This was on Brian's door.
I bet Brian is getting a t-shirt made that says
"vote for Karst."

And this is what was on Karst's office door.
 The bottom in blue says;
"paid for Karst for EOY"

He also walked around with this on all day.

Look at this trusting, loyal, hard working guy
. . . who obviously loves his job,
how could he not be
 Employee of the Year

p.s. The winner will be revealed on Tuesday night, I will keep you posted.

p.p.s. This is really all a joke the partners in the firm decide and there is tough competition,
Karst really doesn't expect to win, he just wanted a good laugh.

p.p.p.s. love you Karst, don't be too mad at me, forgiveness is divine!

How I know he loves me

A few weeks ago, Charlee and I went to Wyoming for the day.  Karst had stayed home to get caught up on work, or that is what he told me.

When we arrived home, I was greeted with this, why is this wonderful?  Karst had shampooed the carpet in the front room, something I had wanted to do for months, but could not figure out how to get it done with a one year old on the loose.

Then I went upstairs and was met with another surprise:
He had redone the internet cable, that was in Charlee's room.  Her room used to be the office and the internet was installed in her room, so for the last year, we had a long cable running through her floor, so we could not close the door, we could not leave her in her room alone.

Even though, he had tons of work to get done, he took the time to do things I needed done, during the busy season.  That is how I know he really loves me.

Infertility was an answer to my prayers

No.  I am not kidding or being sarcastic.  This last week I have realized that the I-monster has been more of a blessing than a curse.

When we were first married we both agreed that we weren't ready for kids and we wanted to make sure we were ready before we started down that road.  The other night I was holding Charlee while she was sleeping and studying her beautiful face and her hands.  She is getting so big every day and I can't stop it or slow it down, I was sad when I realized she was already over 6 months old and those newborn days would never be back.  I know it is too soon to be saying that and I am only at the beginning.

But before I got really sad, I thought about how much I had treasured the days.  I thought about; the too many pictures I took, all the times I spent holding her the first six months, when I would wake up just to watch her sleep,  and I was relieved to see I did not have any regrets about how we had spent the first 6 months of being parents.

This was a great comfort to me, about 5 years ago when we started talking about having a family,  I was terrified.  The thought of being responsible for another life,  the realization of the responsibility was overwhelming.  Of course babies are fun and cute, but babies grow to be children and children grow to be teenagers and teenagers grow to be adults.  And that seems like a lot.  Honestly, I was terrified.

I was scared that I would not be able to deal with all the stress.  The last thing I ever wanted to do was to cause them unnecessary hurt.  These feelings were very real to me, and Karst was trying to be helpful and understanding, but he didn't have the answers.  So intense was this fear of being a parent that I went into therapy to deal with it.  ( This was before we really started "trying", when we were just talking about it.)

I am so grateful that I took that step,  Karst was skeptical at first but once he realized I was talking someone's ear off about this and dealing with it, he was relieved.  Of course we continued to talk to each other about this.  But having that outside voice of reason was what I needed.  It wasn't anything drastic or earth moving, I just dealt with the reasons for the fears and the issues and slowly I realized I really wanted the opportunity to be a parent.

Then if you fast forward to two years ago, when we got the official word that having biological children would not be possible and we were looking at our decisions.  It would have been easy at that point to just say okay, well it's a sign we shouldn't be parents.  If I still had those fears, it could have happened, but by that time I had a strong desire to be a mother to children to take on all that responsibility.

That times we went through; the trying, deciding, waiting and finding, that desire just grew.  I talked to a lot of moms, old and young I asked them every question I could think of.  I read books and both of us did what we could to prepare.  Those days were harder, they were darker, not all of them, but enough that the pain of the  I-monster was there.  Unknowns, and lack of control are not easy things to deal with.

Back to the other night, when I was marveling at how amazing Charlee is, and what an honor it is to be her mom, to be chosen to be her mom.  Tears over took me and I knew that if I didn't have the trial of infertility I would not treasure these moments the same.  I would have taken being a mother for granted, I would be a different mother,  I probably wouldn't be out of control with the camera.

I am not saying that infertile mothers are better or worse, I don't know how you could compare the two.  These are my feelings, about my experience. I am saying for me I needed more time to really prepare, I needed to fight and work hard to get my family so it wasn't something I took lightly.  My infertility forced me work through my fears and doubts about being a parent, and without it, I do not know if I would have realized how much I wanted to be a mother.

Another great blessing of infertility is it made me turn to my Heavenly Father more.  It made me lean on him and to exercise my faith.  It allowed me to see his hand in my life and to feel of his unconditional love for our family and Charlee's birth family.

The bitterness of infertility is horrible, sometimes almost unbearable.  And now at the same time that has made the sweetness of being a mother better then I could have dreamed.

"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude."

Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

We are so blessed, beyond our comprehension.

Wacky Wednesday - Milestones

Of course we all know that the only thing that you can count on is change.  The best change is the one that you plan, that you have control of.  I am a dreamer, I love to sit and think about how things will be, how things can change.  I have been thinking about how reaching different milestones with different goals causes the changes you have been waiting for, but maybe not ready for.

So let me tell you about a few milestones we have reached recently.  First of all my cute little car Marge, turned 100000 miles.  I had just pulled into the salon parking lot when it the 99999 rolled.  Which I thought was fitting since her and I go there every Saturday.  She is still running like a champ, even if she backs into light polls, but that is a post for another day.

So the next milestone we have hit, is as I told you in August, was Karst was working on his last class for his graduate hours before he could start sitting for the CPA exams.  Well just like that it is over, the Grad school he was going to has quarters, and now he has hit the milestone DONE with school.  No more school projects and school stress, don't worry I have found other stress for him, but this huge milestone that he has been working toward for 7 years is over.  It is really weird and something that I don't know if it has really hit him.  I am thinking he needs to do a post on it, but we'll see.

So now his he gets to work and work, they have started the auditing season, so there is a lot going on to keep him busy.   Good thing he loves his job!!

The milestone I have hit, I am getting ready to take a short leave from work, I love my job, I love the company I work for, it is the best job I have ever had, but sometimes you have to step away for a moment and get things in your life on track.   This is a picture of my department at a get together we had.    There are many weeks I have spent more time with these people then my husband, and the'll be missed, but things will be better when I am back.

milestones on this crazy thing we call life.

Parenting

I just can't wait for that experience!!

This has been on my mind a lot lately, a few weeks ago when we had girls camp, I couldn't help but look at the older girls and see where they are after the last 6 years.  There was 4 of them that had there first year when it was my first year as a leader, and they were scared and cried a lot!!  They would cry if they didn't like the food, at the snipe hunt, if they were too hot or too cold. There was 2 who were joined at the hip and if you tried to separate them to do activities, oh the drama!!  As the years went, if they got unhappy at camp they would just call their parents to come and get them.  It wasn't just girls camp it was like this for a lot of activities.

I had been out of young women's for 18 months and man, every thing changed so much the sweet innocent beehives were now crusty giving obnoxious mia maids with little attitudes, and the old mia maids who made me crazy are now these great leaders.  There confidence level is higher, they are more accepting of the other girls.  At camp I really got to see this when these now oldest girls didn't even have to be in the same tent together, and they figured out the tent assignments and even made everyone happy.  AMAZING!!  Then they were so helpful and kind to the first year campers and  they hugged them when they cried and got them to participate in  activities that they took charge of.   My heart was so full, and I was so grateful that I had the opportunity to see the butterfly's emerge.

I have learned about being a parent from them.  I learned that the girl they are today is not going to be the girl they will be tomorrow and just because blue has been there favorite color for the last 3 years tomorrow it might be yellow, you just can't predict what will change.  I learned that they don't respond well, when they are talked to like they are 10, but talk to them on our your level and they get more involved.  I learned that they have an opinion and don't need to be asked to share it. They have great ideas, I love hearing there ideas and thoughts on things.  I have learned that they might have deep desires and beliefs, but that friend acceptance can sometimes be more important.  They have such fragile feelings, but deep and real feelings that demand respect.  And most of all, you can never show them enough love and attention.

One of the hardest things, is when there parents don't give them the attention they needed.  You see the mother push them away because they are too busy and so the girl will go and find acceptance somewhere else.  I just want to shake a few moms and say look, look at your daughter look who she is now, look at what she will be, look at how much she needs you, right now.  Put down your stupid cell phone and talk to your daughter.

It has been great to see many of them go out and live there dreams, to watch them find someone, get married and start families of there own.  To watch them go to school and achieve their dreams.  To be involved in a small part of their lives, has changed my life and the parent I will be.

Karst, has been involved with the Young Men also, and last week 3 of them, he had been with since they were deacons were just sustained as elders.  He has watched them work for and achieve their Eagle, he has taken them up to his beloved Camp New Fork to help them have life changing experiences.  Being involved with the scouting and the YM side has soften his heart, he is such a great teacher and leader.  He is so patient with them and so accepting of them, just by being himself.  He taught them how to be leaders, how to reach out to others, how to make a difference.  He would do anything for those boys, but when the girls are around, he would move heaven and earth for them.  When one of the 12 year old  girls tilted her head and gave him the puppy eyes and asks to drive his truck and he handed her the keys, and got in on the passenger side.  He has no hope with our daughters, he is going to be putty in their hands.

I know a few hours a week is nothing compared to parenthood, and I say bring it on.  I want the chaos and the drama, I want our world to be turned upside down.  I think we might have grown up enough to be ready to be humbled by our children.  (Easy to say now.)

No news on the adoption front yet, but we are still working on it and letting everyone we can know about our dream!!

Wacky Wednesday . . . What lasts 10 years??

So I took my camera around my house and took a picture of things I have had for 10 years.

It was kind of funny,  there wasn't as many things as I thought. But here are a few items:

First item, my toothbrush, yup, 10 years old.  Maybe its time to buy a new one, just kidding.  (I know that is just too funny.)  Ok for real here are the items:
Knife set, our best knife set.  We have more than this, but this was all I could find.
This TV we bought with our wedding money, and sure we still use the rabbit ears, and sure the channels only go to 13, and sure you can't turn it off,  or it will take 10 minutes to turn on, but it works for us.
This vacuum we bought shortly after we were married, the light has died, but it still works wonders and gets the job done.
This chair belonged to a table, (which I have but it was buried in the garage), I bought this before I was married as my last "I'm still single, and this is what I want buy."
This phone came with Karst, he actually got it on his mission, and brought it into our marriage. Yeah, it's a little old school, and sure it is in the garage, but it still works just fine.  Although I think when the battery goes it will have to go also.
This glider, was a wedding gift from Karst's parents and the afghan was made by his grandma. They have brought us comfort and reminded us of all those who love us.
And the "cooler of love" has also made it the last 10 years, this too was a wedding gift.  It was filled with twinky's  and other goodies, those are long gone but the cooler is still going strong.

What else has made it 10 years tomorrow?

Our marriage.  Can you even believe it was 10 years ago that we made everyone crazy with our lack of planning for our wedding.  When we all met on the hill and stood there and took all of those pictures.  Our hair, our home, our vehicles, our jobs, our plans and ideas have all changed. But most of all our love has changed.

When I look at Karst, I don't just see my future with him, I see all those days and times he was there for me,  I see all the things we have learned together, the good and the bad.  I see what a different person I am today then who I was 10 years ago, and I can't wait to live the next 10 with him.

When we were first dating in high school we used to write poems for each other, but we have both gotten out of the habit.  Here is a little poem I wrote for him.

I never knew happiness

Until you taught me how to laugh.

I never knew beauty

Until I saw you look at me.

I never knew respect

Until I saw you give it to others.

I never knew how good I could be

Until I felt how good you treated me.

I never knew truth

            Until you held me accountable.

I never knew forgiveness

            Until you accepted mine.

I never knew love

            Until you gave it unconditional.

My Heart, My Mind, Myself,

Will never be the same.

You’ve changed me for the better.

I love knowing we can be together forever.

Sharing the last 1o years of marriage,

Has been an honor,

I live to be worthy of some day.

Happy Anniversary Karst!!

Wacky Wednesday

Okay, first of all a confession.  I have 3 posting that I am working on and every time I sit down to get them finished and posted.  What happens?  I go lurking.  I love to go lurking at others blogs, because that is a lot funner than writing about myself.  So now it a quarter to mid-night and what did I get done?  Nothing that I needed to, but I sure had a lot of fun and learned a lot.  So please forgive this poor posting, and since I don’t have any pictures I am sharing with you my favorite font.  I hope you can paint a pretty picture in your mind.

So this weeks Wacky Wednesday, a fact that many of you know about me, if you have ever gone anywhere with me:

    I AM A KLUTZ!!

Not just a bump into things or knock things over.  I am the down on the ground, skirt over my head, knee-bleeding klutz.  I haven’t narrowed down the problem.  I blame it on not paying attention to where I am going, and trying to get there too quickly.  (However, I am proud to say I have never peed my pants when I have fallen, unlike someone I know.)

Here are some great examples of past Klutzings:

¨   I am about 14 years old, at home and it is dark.  Well, I have lived in the house for 14 years so I should be able to walk around with out lights on right?  So I am walking to the bathroom and trying to figure out why I can’t see the window in the bathroom, and I am walking and walking and “ouch” I walked straight into the door.  The best part was my sisters were in the front room watching tv and they got to hear the “thud” and then my “ouch”.

¨   I was again at home and I talking on the phone, back in the olden days when the phone was attached to the wall and there was a handset attached to the cord so you couldn’t really go too far.  Anywho, I am talking and playing with a rubber band, ( I know you can see it coming.) So while I am talking I put the rubber band over the door handle of the sliding glass door and I am looking at it and getting it straight and “flip”  “ouch” and I was hit square on the forehead.  The funny thing, I was surprised that happened.  Then of course I had to tell my friend that I was talking to on the phone what I did, which made me feel more gifted and talented.

¨   So our current home, also has a sliding glass door, (but we have “banned” the rubber band, because those are dangerous), and back when we had a deck (that’s a post for a rainy day).  More than once I would walk out onto the deck with out noticing that screen, I would walk right into it. I did it so much I bent the screen frame and we had to take it off.

¨   I lit my bed on fire when I was 16 while I was trying to light a candle, and didn’t notice until the smoke alarm went off.

¨   I have closed a door on my skirt, kept walking and didn’t notice until I heard the “rip” sound.

See why I don’t have pictures, now that really would be embarrassing.

So when Karst and I were dating I somehow was able to camouflage my klutziness (not that I hid it, but you know love is blind), and Karst was totally caught off guard when he realized it.  Here is the story:

·      Day 3 of our honeymoon.  The day we are camping.  We are unloading the truck and getting camp set up and of course there is a fire pit in the middle of the campsite, (no there is no flame). I was carrying a cooler and I tripped and fell into the fire pit, Karst, concerned and worried about his beautiful bride, he drops the box he is carrying, runs over, tries to help me up and is brushing the ashes off my leg.  Asking if I am all right, tells me I should sit down for a minute.  Me?  What I am doing? Laughing.  So I assure him I am okay, so about 2 trips later I do it again, he is like are you serious at that point I am banned to the camp chair and not allowed to help unload the truck.  (I know bummer deal.)

So fast-forward about 2 years, and Karst now knowing my klutzy secret:

¨   We are downtown walking in front of the mall; I trip and fall on to the ground.  Karst looks down and casually says, “what are you doing on the ground,Kim?”.  So what does that tell you?  He has come to expect the falling and the klutiness.  Theses days, he will notice a bruise or a scrape and he’ll say; “falling again, huh.”  He has accepted this as a part of life.

Needless to say I think I have learned the art of being a Klutz and by following these simple rules you too can embrace your klutziness and look forward to your next “incident.”

1)    Even if you aren’t surprised you feel, act surprised.  You don’t want people to think you planned it.  Plus surprised is a better way to act then embarrassed.

2)  Don’t look around to see if anyone saw, because then you will see them and know that they saw.  It is just better to pretend no one saw and you can go on with your day like nothing happened.

3)  Laugh, Laugh and keep laughing all the way to the ice machine and Tylenol. If you cry people will ask you what is wrong and then you’ll have to tell them, and they will get the laugh.

Last but not least and JennyLynn’s favorite rule:

4)And this is serious, tested, tried and proven.  Just relax.  When you are walking down the flight of stairs in your heels, drinking your Dr.Pepper talking on the phone and you start to fall don’t grab onto the hand rail or wall and try to stop yourself, just relax your muscles and they will take care of you.  The tenser you are when you hit the bottom (or your bottom, ha ha) the more it will hurt.  So again just relax and enjoy the ride.

P.S No bones or stitches have been incurred because of a klutzy moves, so I can highly recommend these rules.

Wacky Wednesday

Taking and giving compliments.  Somehow over the years Karst and I have developed our own little communication system.  Of course it is a little dysfunctional, but that's us.  Basically we acknowledge something was done or should be done and then say things in a round about way and try to throw in a third party.  So here is a few examples:

Scenario, a few months ago it was snowing, (shocker) and I left for about 15 minutes when I got home Karst had already shoveled the drive way.  I was very grateful and surprised.  So this is how the conversation went.

Kim:  "Do you know what happened to all the snow I put on the driveway before I left?" (translation, wow thanks for shoveling all the snow)

Karst:  "I don't know Fred must have went out and licked it up, Fred get back out there and put the snow back." ( translation, no problem honey I am glad I could do it)

Okay here is another example, I have a bad habit of piling clothes on the chair that I need to hang up and putting dirty clothes in a pile in front of my dresser.  Usually once  week I clear them all off.  For some reason there was a week that I hadn't picked up my clothes yet.  ( I know what your thinking mom, you did teach me better.)  So, I finally got a round to picking it all up and the room was spotless.  So here is how Karst acknowledged my efforts.

Karst:  Yelling from the bedroom.  "Kim, Kim someone broke into the house and stole all your clothes." (translation, wow Kim thanks for picking up your clothes the bedroom looks great)

Kim:  "Oh well, I guess I better go buy more clothes." (translation, I better buy more clothes because any reason to buy new clothes is a good reason.)

Here is the last example.  It's Saturday night and we have both been working and Karst wants to just relax.  Of course I am off doing something, and trying to figure out what is going to happen the rest of the night

Kim:  "So how is the homework?" (translation, I am sure you want to work on your homework this evening, but I am hoping we could go to the grocery store.)

Karst:  "I need to be working on my butt grooves and holding down the couch for a while, I haven't spent the quality bonding time with the couch as I should. (translation,  I am going to relax on the couch for a while and I would love it if you joined me.)

I know there are always communication issues in marriage, and really who ever really understands what the other person is saying?  I love our little language we have developed it is always fun to think of new things to catch him off guard, but he is the true genius that always leaves me laughing.  The best is when we have people over or when others over hear our conversation because they have no clue and take it serious.  Then we both crack up.  If I think of any other great examples I'll try to share them.
