You knew it was going to happen, I held out as long as I could, but when the back was starting to look like a mullet and her hair was getting in her eyes. It was time to break out the scissors. Plus she is already 3 months old, how long did you think I could wait?We took her to the salon, sat her in the bumbo chair, in front of the mirror and she was set.
I cut the back to match her sides and then I did go through and do some layers, so more of her little wave would show. Then I trimmed her bangs, and barely trimmed the top. She has lots of new hair growing in, also she had really long and really short pieces, this should help them all blend as they grow out. I hope we can go another 6 months without cutting it, so it can fill in and still be somewhat even, I guess we'll see.
She didn't seem to mind, and I guess was a little bored, since she was yawning. My friend was taking pictures and she messed with the settings and the color is off in the rest of these pictures, but you get the point.
The finished project. I know she isn't smiling but she does love it I can tell.
This picture is a little on the light side but it shows how it looks now, Karst didn't want me to do it at first, but then agreed it looked better. I know it will grow back quickly.
See she still has all her curls, it just doesn't look crazy.
